Ellen Eanes Courson, MD, MBA recently graduated from Auburn University with her Physicians Executive Masters of Business Administration (MBA) degree.

Courses completed included completion of an in-depth comparison of delivery of health care services in the United States and the United Kingdom, a Washington DC trip meeting personally with Congressman Sanford Bishop to discuss local health care needs, challenges in Medical Ethics, Legal Aspects of Healthcare Business Transactions, Cost Accounting, Organizational Leadership and Change, Health Care Statistics, Operations and Information Technology, and Macroeconomics.

Dr. Courson serves as Chief of Staff of Smith-Northview Hospital and practices High-risk obstetrics with Danielle McFarland, MD at Valdosta Women’s Health Center, PC.

Courson serves as Adjunct Professor of Obstetrics with the Medical College of Georgia of Augusta, Georgia, and Clinical Assistant Professor of Obstetrics with the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine of Suwanee, Georgia.

The Medical College of Georgia Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology awarded Dr. Courson the 2007 APGO Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching in Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is a
member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Courson has been named by the Consumers Research Council of America as one of the Top Obstetricians and Gynecologists in America since 2002.
